Birthdays, life's changes and miniatures

Shabby kitchen for CDHM online magazine
Join me for tea?
Liberty's tea party in miniature
Emily, Hannah ( aka birthday girl) & Me
Okay so where to begin. Last weekend my daughter Hannah turned 21. She also moved into her first apartment. I can't believe where the time has gone or that she is old enough to have her own place. Needless to say it has been a tough adjustment. For us both. The move is only about 10 minutes away and I'm so thankful for that.
Still working on the bakery modeled after the real shop. Should be done and ready to share soon. I also put together a kitchen room box for the CDHM online magazine. I thought I would share a couple pictures here. I had so much fun with it.
I don't know how many of you saw Mercedes post about the little tea party she did for the adorable Liberty but I was so inspired when I saw it I had to recreate it in miniature. I'm very happy to say it was a nice distraction and is now on its way to New Zealand.
I guess that catches you up for now. I do wish you all a nice weekend. I hope yours includes some mini time. Thats what I have planned for mine. Mini hugs!

Kim, What a treat to see you post again! It is such a hard adjustment when our "babies" leave the nest! It seems like their childhood's at that point just flew by!

I LOVE the kitchen that you have put together! Everything looks so incredible! You are going to have one little girl in NZ squealing soon with her tea party in miniature arriving~~ What an incredible treasure for her to have!!!

Congratulations to Hannah on her very important birthday, and her new apartment, an exciting time in her life for sure. And as you say a bit of a tough one for her mom :)

The little teaparty is just gorgeous, Liberty is going to swoon! What an amazingly generous gift. (And I hope to get to see it myself for real in a while as I'm passing through Auckland and all going well I'll get to visit Mercedes and Liberty, I'm so excited!).

10 minutes is really ok. When I left Mum we had about 600 km between us (now we have 900 km)

And I was just 18 :/

Anyway, I love the little kitchen, it's just gorgeous and perfectly done!

Mini-hugs!

Beautiful work. My youngest leaves for uni this September to join his two older siblings. I get a sick feeling every time I think of next winter.
Even though we know it's time for them to go it's always too early!

It's wonderful that your daughter is just 10 minutes away! Moms and daughters always stay close and the relationship just gets better through the years. That kitchen is so very adorable ~ I just love it. I received a dollhouse kit for Christmas and am just starting to put it together. You give me so much inspiration!!
