New Beginnings~

I could think of no better title for this long over do post than " New Beginnings". It perfectly describes my life right now. I have been away awhile I know but I have been very busy. Before my disappearance I was struggling with my kids getting older and just where that left me. Well that was really only the half of it. I have gone thru some very big changes , none of which were easy for me. We decided to sell our house of 11 years because we could no longer afford it. Talk about tough. I had 11 years of things to go thru and I don't like getting rid of things. There was lots of painting to do too. So I painted and as I was painting I cried and mourned the loss of my home. I thought about my kids and all the firsts that happened there......and I cried some more.
Really it had become more house than we needed and now it was time to go back to where I grew up. Closer to my mom, my brother and his family, and really closer to my kids who all seem to be moving in the same direction. It is a cute little house , with a room for making my miniatures. I will give you a little look at my new life . No not my miniature life this time. Oh and did I mention I have a porch? Well I do. So come on over for a visit and I will make cookies and lemonade.
Change is hard but it can be good too! So heres to new beginnings!
Glimpses of the kitchen. Still working on this shabby wall.
I hope to put recipes under the glass on the table.
My creative space. I hope to make many more miniatures here.
Will you join me for some mini making?
I love roses!
Mini is here too!
Emily's room. The only child living at home now.
The view from my new front door. Life is a series of doors. Old ones close and new ones open. I'm excited and nervous to see where my new life takes me. But I know I'm going to be okay. Till next time. Mini Hugs~

I'm so glad you're back Kim! Just after I found your blog, it seemed you might be taking a break? Moving is hard and so much work. I hope the rest of your year is full of sweet moments.

I've thought about you so often and I'm so glad to know you are okay. Change is so hard sometimes. Our homes hold such sweet memories. When my parents sold the house they built (literally) and raised their five babies in, we all came back to close the house together. There was lots of love, and lots of tears. There are so many memories made in our homes... I know that your family will cherish all those memories made in your home forever.
Your new home is so wonderful-- your studio is beautiful!! Even little Mini looks happy in her new home! Happy nesting, sweet Kim...I know your house will start to feel like home with your magic touch!
Hugs,
Jill

Life is always full of changes, big and small and they sure can be challenging times but new beginnings are good too. Enjoy settling into your new home and I am sure being closer to the family is always a good thing. A smaller home will hopefully mean less cleaning time and more fun time!!!!!

Marsha is so right. A house is just a building; a home is where family and friends abide. Eager to see what you'll be creating in your new space!

No fair, making me cry for you first thing in the morning like this...
(that was a very lame joke but I hope to make you smile).
Bless your dear heart and your new home.
Perhaps the new doors God has opened will serve a purpose you never imagined.

Dear Kim, changes are part of us although I know how hard is to accept them and how hard is letting memores being only memories. it's better not to go back.
I am glad that now you are settled and that you are closer to your family: that's definitely a good change. And I'm glad that your home is so lovely. I love your kitchen and your work room. I envy your porch , in god sense, and I think that your screen door is wonderful!

Your new home is beautiful. They say a new broom sweeps clean and I am sure you will find that you are exactly were you are suppose to be. I too have a home that is much to big and expensive as | am nearly an empty nester left with 5 bedrooms but am so hesitant to give it up just incase the kids decide to return home, what to do, what to do.

Los cambios son duros para todo el mundo. Pero hay que saberles ver la parte positiva. Su nueva casa es hermosísima y además disfrutará más de su familia al tenerla cerca.

Change can be very hard and a bit scary at times. I understand your struggle. I too will be down to one child at home this year. :(

I've decided keeping busy is the best thing to do.

In this new house, you will create new memories and more of your fabulous miniatures! :)

I wish you well with all of your changes. :)

Your new home is beautiful. I wish you all the best - I understand your feelings about your children leaving. My oldest two are in their first "real" apartments and finishing college and I only have my son left at home. Change is hard but it can be exciting, too!

Kim, I have missed your postings so much and am so glad to hear that all is O.K.(except for the big change). Your new house is darling and like Marsha said,"Home is where the heart is." I know what you went through because I had to make the same decision about 6 years ago after living in my house for 20 years. There were alot of tears and so much stuff to sort through! In hindsight it was the best thing for me to have done. You will have the same feeling soon. I love your new workspace and look forward to seeing what darling mini's you will create there!!!
Big Hugs to you......

Kim, I am so happy to see you are ok. I've checked your blog regularly hoping to hear that you are. You are such a kind soul and a creative, talented person. I really believe that things happen for a reason, even if that reason isn't apparent at the time. You will look back one day and see the blessings in your changes and the good things you would have missed without them. Mandy

Your creativity is such an inspiration to me and I love visiting your blog home. BTW, I wish I had a spare room in my little house to put all my minis in. Currently my work room is the dining room table.

Dear Kim,

It's been a while since your last update, and I can only understand how it feels when you have to move after living in the same place for so long...
On the other side, I hope you will be continuing to create even more miniatures in your new lovely space! Take care!

Congratulations, Kim...new home, new life, new studio, new friends, new challenges. That can certainly feel overwhelming, but I know you, you have the courage and resilience to lay down new markers which are necessary to make a brand new future. All of us out here send you our love and hugs to help support you as you settle into a new routine. I, for one, have missed your postings, and I can see that I'm not alone in that! Welcome back, Kim!!! P. S. this must be the year for transitions. I, too, am in the process of a move. Fortunately, I'm going back to a home that I really love. : )

What a great new space and Mini doggy looks pleased too. It's such a wrench when they grow up and move out, but it does get easier. Onward and upward. We only borrow them for a little while and then they must make their own way. Sorry you had to part with some treasures but that also makes way for new things to enter your life. Sending hugs your way my friend xo

HI Kim,

Wishing you luck and love in your new home! Transitions are so hard, I know! My older 2 are leaving soon also, but they seem like they are always gone because they left the teen years a couple years back. Now it's just me and my daughter basically. But you'll get through it, plus if you're close by, you'll get to enjoy them in a new way too!

Your new home looks fabulous, and living in a smaller space is more cozy I find :) Good luck sweetie! ps: Love your mini room!!!

Hugs, Cynthia

I reaaally like your minis workshop !
I look forward to having a nice home like you.
You know, at the beginning it is pretty hard to understand the reasons to explain the hard times we live, but after some time, perhaps many many years, we understand they happened for a reason. So I think change is always, always good.
I love your work

Leaving the cherished past behind and forging ahead into the unknown and new can be a challenge, but wonderful memories follow along wherever you choose to go. Your words, on the closing of one door opening another, are so telling ... as we never know what life has in store for us, and in just what direction it will lead us ... trustingly and hopefully ... into some new, unimagined delight! Your workroom is wonderful.
