I had a nice weekend. Weather was cold and rainy so I decided to make tortilla soup and baked a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Finishing up some special requests and had fun filling some of my mini glass jars like my real size glass jars in my kitchen. Mine hold my flour and sugar.
I think it is funny how much my miniature world mirrors my real world or how much it is full of how I would like things to be. Thats what its all about to me. Seeing what I can recreate in miniature. So many times I don't know for sure which size I'm seeing life in. Does any one else know what I mean? I'm positive you do. I know there tends to be the never ending debate in the mini world of who made what first.... which most days I find funny. We are all copying something.....Its called "Life". Mini hugs~

That's exactly what it is all about! Wether you are copying your own life or the life you wish you had!....While my life is wonderful (most of the time) I would adore a "Petite Maison" in France....so I guess I am the latter..
Enjoy your miniatures Kim as much as we do, they are wonderful!!!

I made a red velvet too this weekend. A lot of work but it's Richard's favorite!
How funny, I made tortilla soup this weekend also!! Your cake looks yummy! (I wish that I had made that!)
Love those little cannisters-- and the scoops-- so cute!
Lately I've noticed the similarities between my 1:1 house and my 1:12 house. Funny how that happens, isn't it?
Hugs,
Jill
Even Liberty gets confused as to what's real and what's mini. She was looking at the cover of an architecture magazine with a very modern house on it and she said, "Wow, that's a really big dollhouse"!
Love your little jars Kim!

I think we are all fascinated by scale! I would have loved to make a maxi house too! But it would not fit into my house!!!
Love the photos: I see pretty and I see delicious...
Absolutely! We're copying life, real or imagined.
I think I create what i would like life to be like more than what it's really like... I think...but I am not a scale expert as I always say , I mix all the scales and I am surrouded by mini miniatures , miniatures and normal sized objects.
I love your mini glass jars!
Oooo those jars are adoreble!

I love your mini jars.
In miniature I tend to collect and do what I like in real life, and also what I can't have in real life. Sometimes I will buy something because I just love it, and in that case it has nothing to do with my life. So for me it's a mix.

Cool jars! I cannot believe they look exactly like what they are supposed to be. I've never seen cocoa and brown sugar in mini before. You continue to rock.
Oh yeah, same/same whether its people sized or dh sized. It's all been done. It's still nice to see a lovely twist on things like yours. It's always like...how did she *do* that :O)

I find I recreate things in my life that bring me pleasure but don't include in my miniworld the the things that aggravate me. The ability to create our perfect world in miniature makes it a such a pleasurable escape. As always, Kim, your work astounds me!

Hi, Kim.
It's the first time that I see your blog, I think that your mini-world is amasing, you made it very romantic and unique. Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice Christmas.
Monique.
Kim, you're so right!
Your jars are wonderful . . . you never cease to amaze me how you can take something from real life and make it in miniature. It always looks so real to me!
I've taken the chance to catch up on some of your other posts since the coconut cake and WOW! You've been busy! I love the cupcakes and cookies with the little silver sprinkles on them . . . they're so cute and festive!
Thanks so much for sharing! And no, I never get tired of your mini-baking . . . bring it on!
Hugs,
Teresa
Lol Kim your post reminds me of the lady on SNL that has done everything and invented everything first. If she saw everything in mini too she'd be just past nuts lol! I think that being into miniatures like I am has given me a gift of being a better listener in person because when I do talk I just say "mini blah blah this and that mini, and mini" and people don't have a clue what I'm talking about but most pretend they do. Smiling and thinking I'm weird lol. Whatever, yes most decorating and food thoughts go to mini in my brain too. "I'm fine thanks!" By the way, I invented the tortilla, in mini too:) Seriously, when will you teach that style you have? I'm still standing in line, and it's snowing now! Merry Christmas my Friend!
I love the little filled canisters - I might just "borrow" that idea, if you don't mind!
Merry Christmas Cathy!
I don't mind Irene. It is not my idea it is seen in "life" and so cute in miniature. Hugs!
