We have light.....in the mini patisserie

Spent time this weekend working on the lighting for my mini patisserie. I'm thrilled with them. I still need to add 2 more very pretty lights when I get the walls finished. Had to try out a cake and a random display just to see. Not sure what displays I'm using for sure yet. Stay tuned. More to come soon.
Today I was at the vet most of the day. My sweet little "Minnie" dog is sick. She seems to be doing better tonight. I didn't realize that onions were so bad for dogs. I know what things are bad now. Off to bed to cuddle my minnie dog. Mini hugs!

A special thank you to Donna and other things I'm doing....

I wanted to get on here sooner to thank Donna for the wonderful tea pot and witch doll she sent me. Thank you! They are so adorable. She makes the cutest bears and now these amazing little tea pots and dolls. This is one talented lady. If you haven't been to her blog you its a must visit http://hagerbears.blogspot.com/. Thanks again for thinking of me. You are very sweet.
I have also been working on a special request pink baking table and my bespaq roombox that will soon be my mini patisserie. I painted the trim inside white and added flooring. Still trying to decide on papers and lighting. I love this box so much. I can't wait to see it filled.
Summer is coming to a end for us and the kids will be going back to school in a week. Keeping me very busy getting them ready to go back to school. Clothes shopping for teens.....theres really nothing like it is there? I need my minis to take me away now!!!! and they do. Mini hugs all!

Eating a cupcake......my own challenge

Well awhile ago I challenged myself to make a cupcake in the process of being eaten, it turned out okay but really didn't love it. I vowed to try it again someday. I really wanted to get the feel of the buttercream being moved. I tried again today and here are the results. I also made some coconut cake and cupcakes for a project I'm working on. Not too much new here. Just really behind with laundry but wanted to work on minis instead. It will still be there tomorrow...Right?

Old dollhouse miniatures make for a fun evening......

Yesterday I went to visit a miniature friend whose dollhouse store I had spent years and years going too. She no longer has her store but has a wonderful collection of miniature estates that she takes to shows and sells. During our visit I got to got thru boxes filled with things like these. A dream I know. This is some of what I came home with. My favorite is the copper pots or maybe the rolling pins or .....Oh I love it all. A visit with a old friend and dollhouse miniatures makes for the perfect evening. Don't you think? Mini hugs!

My new favorite plate and a new silver server........

Today I thought I would share this wonderful plate. I just love it. It is made by Stokesayware and it is wonderful. Don Henry did the silver server also so wonderful. I'm sure you will agree. I also thought it would be fun to visit my little chef so busy in the kitchen. She was made by Kay Shipp and will eventually have her own work area in my bakery. Isn't she great? I just love her expression on her face. I think I do that too Lol. I hope you are having a great day and getting some mini time. My time is up and I must get back to real life now. Mini hugs!

A little cookie and coffee anyone?

Took the kids to the mall today. Not really my favorite thing to do. But they enjoy it. I was able to finish up a cookie and coffee display for the shabby bake shop I'm trying to finish. Pretty happy with it. Would you like a cookie? I sure would right now! Mini hugs!

In the mood for some cake......

Today has ended up totally different than I had planned. I'm home alone and could really do anything I want to do. I have spent the morning playing with miniatures. Does that ever happen to anyone? You stop to look at something and next thing you know 2 hours have gone by. I have found my self in a miniature cake mood again. I'm hoping it will get me to finish my shabby bakery. That is really almost done. Here are some pictures of the playing I did this morning.
I would also like to wish a Very Happy Birthday to Stephanie Kilgast. I hope you will join me. She has a wonderful blog too http://petitplatbysk.blogspot.com/ Happy weekend and Mini hugs!

Midnight.... Harry Potter and the half blood prince...Finally the wait is over

Well I made a promise to my daughter that we would see the new Harry Potter movie at midnight tonight.... I went on line to buy our tickets and guess what sold out!!!! Yikes now I'm in big trouble she had been telling all week to buy our tickets. So I hopped in my car hair a mess, makeup under my eyes, not sure what I was wearing and stood in line for tickets for what MIGHT be left at the movie theater. Good news it was all worth it. Mom came back with tickets. Emily is talking to me again Lol. Now I better take a nap. Its going to be a long night.
I thought I would share this picture from my old 1:12 scale toy shop. It's of my Harry Potter display with sorting hat and books. I did this when the last book was released. I thought the toy store needed a display as well. My life really does exsist in miniature as well. So to all you Harry Potter fans this one looks like a good one. I wish we could all see it together. Mini hugs!

Nice cold gelato and candy......Thats what I'm in the mood for....

Well....It is summer here and it has been warm. The kids love to go to the Powells sweet shop for some cold gelato and a nice candy pick. I thought I would share my things for my next candy shop. I have so many projects started and just not enough time. Yes, I made all the trays of gelato and what a job it was but the result was exactly what I wanted. I hope you are having a wonderful summer. Mine has been good. When I can get back to this project it will be called "The Pink Penguin" gelato and candy shoppe. Also wanted to mention the striped candy bag and bag of chocolates with the pink bow were made by Cathy McGhee at the Fabulous Farmhouse. If you have never been to her website you must. http://www.thefabulousfarmhouse.com/
Wondeful things! Mini hugs!
